Waltz on route 66
Written for the High School/College jazz ensemble, “Waltz on route 66” was premiered in February 2020 at the Manhattan School of Music composers big band concert. From the composer: This piece of music for big band was written in order to evoke the feelings that come from traveling through the american west. The meter is ¾ time and the style is played as a jazz waltz. Listening to this composition invokes feelings of taking a journey through unexpected places. The composition combines modern jazz harmonies with more traditional rhythms, which mirrors traveling on route 66 with its rich history combined with the modern age.
